getting what you want

getting what you want

The next time you feel stuck, try this.

By Sally on August 7, 2017

stuckAlmost any time that we’re feeling stuck, we can move forward through a shift in our perspective.

Often, what gets us stuck in the first place– and what can keep us there, spinning our wheels– is our own thinking.

That’s right. The trap we are in is nearly always of our own making, and the way out is so close… we just can’t see it. Yet. We’re too wrapped up in the storyline that we’ve built. (We all do this. No judgment here.)

It can help tremendously to have an unbiased, supportive, skilled questioner to help you get unstuck (that’s one thing that we coaches are great at). But it’s also something we can learn to practice and self-coach.

Get more of what you want

By Sally on February 24, 2012

driving along a road

Who's driving your car?

Ever wonder why you’re not getting what you want?

So many of us drive ourselves down roads that don’t satisfy us following what we desire (or worse, drive ourselves crazy trying to find the road at all), for one simple reason.

We forget that what we want, in all its fantastic seductiveness and splendor, is actually not the most important thing.

Yes, our wants and desires are amazingly effective navigators when they’re in the back seat giving us directions.

But should they really be driving the car?

What we want is important. Getting really, really clear on that is what helps us create a solid map for our lives and our work and our contributions to our communities.

If we want to feel fulfilled, find truly satisfying lifestyles and careers… and have more of what we want… well, we’ve got a couple of things to take care of first. Continue Reading

Testimonials

  • Sally guided me through identifying my career move and taking the steps to make it reality. After being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, I had lost all sense of my strengths and skills beyond caring for my family. I was ready to start something of my own, but I hadn’t a clue what to do or how to identify what I really wanted. Sally guided me through skills and strengths identification and helped me dig down and discover what was really important in crafting this next phase of my life.

Once I figured out what type of business I wanted to start, she helped me craft a business plan, identify a web designer, create a marketing plan and STAY ON TRACK. Through homework, deadlines and accountability, I was pushed to persevere through the not-fun stuff of starting a business, to where I am today: LAUNCHING! I’ve loved working with Sally: she’s kind, funny, intuitive and I’ve always felt like her main concern is my success. I wouldn’t have gotten to this exciting chapter without her!
